Elsie Ann Egri passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 24, 2019. There were no indications that she suffered any pain. She spent her final hours with her son, daughter, daughter-in-law, grandson and the compassionate care providers of Heartland Hospice and Hanna House.
She was born, Elsie Livas Angeletta Figone, in San Francisco to father Louis, and Mother, Marie Figone on May 27, 1933. Her mother passed away in 1940 and her father passed a short time later leaving her, her sister Joyce, and brother Jerry in the care of foster parents. As adults, Elsie and Joyce shared an apartment together. Elsie worked at Fosters restaurant in downtown San Francisco where she met her husband Louis Egri Sr. They moved from San Francisco to Milbrae and later Belmont where they raised their two children Louis Jr., and Lora. Elsie also volunteered helping care for elderly. She always had a soft heart for those who could not care for themselves and continued her care for elderly even when she needed care herself soon after her husband passed away in 1997.
Elsie enjoyed sharing a laugh with friends and family. Her sense of humor was a gift to those she spent time with. However, her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To Elsie, they could do no wrong and she truly believed that they were the smartest most beautiful and talented children on the face of the earth.
Elsie is survived by her sister, Joyce Banducci, of San Carlos, CA, her two children, Louis (and wife, Ann) Egri Jr., of Santa Rosa, CA, and Lora (and husband, Jason) David, of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Sarah Dedman, Anthony Egri, Nico David and two great-grandchildren: Zoey and Mabel Dedman.
She was preceded by her husband, Louis Egri Sr., her brother, Jerry Figone, her sister-in-law, Carol Figone, and her brother-in-law, Primo Banducci.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday March 15, 2019 at Woodlawn Funeral Home; 1000 El Camino Real, Colma, CA 94014 followed by a lunch reception at a nearby restaurant to be determined later. In-lieu of flowers, please send donations to Heartland Hospice of Santa Rosa or the charity of your choice.
