From Frank’s family, we post this message with sadness in our hearts and with love and gladness too, that Frank is now resting after his struggle with various health issues. Frank passed away on August 2, 2018 sitting in his favorite chair while taking a morning nap….in his home where he wanted to be.
He was a beloved son, brother, partner, father and friend to all. Thank you Lin, for everything shared with Frank, and especially for giving Frank’s last days your undivided attention, care, love, laughter and quiet time together.
Who was Frank?.... Few people know of the tremendous generosity that was his second nature, never petty, more often than not he responded selflessly whenever great need was presented. Frank gave quietly, without drawing attention to himself and he helped numerous people when he learned they were in difficulty. He gave freely and more often than not, anonymously. In 1995, when Guerneville, Russian River flooding rose to 48-ft – Frank kayaked from his second story apartment to reach out where help was needed.
Frank worked and lived life with intensity; not boisterous, but thoroughly dedicated to his many interests such as hand gliding, golf, scuba diving, camping, freshwater and ocean fishing. He was a licensed pilot, a superb chess player and wicked at a game of poker. Needless to say, it was also no secret among those close to him that Frank was an avid sports enthusiast – a real San Francisco Bay Area team player. At work and around town, Frank was well known as the friendly and always helpful customer service employee and buyer at both Santa Rosa Friedman Brothers and Healdsburg’s Garrett Hardware stores.
Frank will be missed and his memory will linger in our hearts.
