Gerald D. "Gerry" Kelm, 85, passed away at home here in Forestville on October 3, 2018 with family present. Gerry was the son of the late Anne T Kelm and Otis “Red” Kelm. Born in San Francisco, raised his family in Millbrae, moved to the family Forestville summer home in 2009. He served 6 years in the Army reserves 1950-1956. He worked for Georgia Pacific for 52 years retiring at age 70. Gerry had many accomplishments in his life; most notably was building a boat from scratch starting with the hull and forming the boards in the family bath tub. The boat was so fast that the rooster tail made it hard to ski behind. He regularly took his family camping, taught them to water ski and most of all how to laugh.
He was preceded in death by wife Nancy, the love of his life, but got nine wonderful years with her and stepson, Rowdy, before she passed.
He was the Loving father of Lisa Lakoduk and Kari Palmer, grandchildren Robert, Douglas, Charlie, Chris, Lauren Deanna and Sky. Great grandchildren Kaiden, Adam, Hailey, Jared, Josh, Aria, Hunter and Gianna. Beloved cousin of Marsha Eberhardt, Bonnie Rodrigues, BettyLou Miller, Lindy Graham and many more Aunts and cousins.
Gerry was a good friend and neighbor with a big heart and a great laugh. I know he touched anyone that took the time to get to know him.
Celebration of Life will be at the Forestville Youth park 7040 Mirabel Road in Forestville on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 PM.
