Helen Elizabeth Rush of Rohnert Park passed peacefully with her son Daryl by her side on January 9, 2019; just five days short of her 90th birthday. She was born January 14, 1929 in South
Dakota to Richard and Ora Jane Morse. She moved to Berkeley California as a little girl with her parents and siblings, Richard Jr, Mary, and Jane. She attended Berkeley High School graduating with the class of 1946. She attended college and worked at Kaiser until she married Robert Rush on June 16, 1951 and went on to raise five children. After raising her family she assisted her husband in his photography business, LJ Studios in Petaluma, and Rohnert Park, California before going to work for Harris Digital in Novato. After becoming a widow in 1986 she continued to work for Harris Digital. She retired in March of 1996. After retirement she travelled to Alaska on a cruise and had a wonderful time. Helen was a dedicated volunteer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cotati and the Widows Club. She began as a volunteer at Kaiser Permanente in 1997 and continued as a volunteer until 2015 at the age of 87, with more than 2300 hours of volunteer work when she decide to retire again. She was a devoted catholic, and as her grandson Alex said, she was very kind and a true woman of God.
She enjoyed watching and rooting for her beloved San Francisco 49ers. Her family knew to never call during a 49er game, because Helen wouldn’t answer the phone. Helen loved reading and working her crossword puzzles and tending her beautiful African Violets. She loved to camp with her family and was especially fond of Pinecrest, and the Oregon coast.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rush, and her twin sons Glenn and Gary Rush.
