Susan Gayle Carlsen, 71, died peacefully in her sleep the morning of April 26th at her home having been on Hospice for over a year from a heart condition. She was grateful for her care providers Juana, Jamie, Ann Gallagher, Janet Seaforth and to her beloved brother Roger Carlsen for his contributions to her final care.
She is survived by her two children, Michael and Michelle and a granddaughter, and four siblings.
Susan was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and had a successful career in the insurance business in San Francisco for many years. She moved to the country hills of Mendocino County where she became a carpenter. Worked for Bruce Bread and delivered bread all over the county. She spent time in Port Townsend, Washington and moved to Cloverdale about three years ago.
She volunteered at the Cloverdale Senior Center and made many friends. Susan loved to travel and especially loved Paris which she talked about often. She loved poetry. She was a singer writer and played guitar. She always spoke her mind and could be a lot of fun. She was a strong woman who went her own way.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Susan's life on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Windsor Healdsburg Mortuary, 9660 Old Redwood Highway, Windsor, CA 95492.
